This activity was in line with the group’s social development plan. Services rendered range from eye examination, eye refraction, and glaucoma testing going to the eye pathology stage in order to see the kind of diseases the individuals have. The recipients also received prescription medicines and both reading and regular eyeglasses, all for free. According to one of the members of the Eye Care We Care Mission, this is their first time here in Ilocos Sur and even the farthest mission they had. All the materials needed such as reading and regular eye glasses for the beneficiaries and all the funds for this mission are all donations coming from the United States. The manpower from the Team Eye Care We Care are all well trained volunteers. Mrs. Patch Singson, President of Ladies for Ryan, during the interview said, “All Ilosurians who are diagnosed for operation, their surgery will be scheduled on this coming October 2017 with the same foundation.” Meanwhile, Mrs Catherine Escopel thanked the governor and the foundation for bringing such eye mission like this. “Thank you Gov. Ryan, for giving us the opportunity to have an eye check-up, for we could not afford to go to private eye clinics” Escopel stressed. Among others that helped in this Eye Care Mission were the Ladies for Ryan, Inner Wheel Club – Makati, and National Council of Women of the Philippines and Women’s Rights Movement of the Philippines.
